      ETIM NORTH AMERICA (NA) announced that Leviton, a leading provider of electrical wiring devices, lighting controls, network solutions, and electric vehicle supply equipment and automation joined ETIM NA’s data standards association.

      Leviton joins other industry-leading manufacturers like ABB, Eaton, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric and Siemens, as well as distributors like Sonepar, who are participating in ETIM NA-led committee activity to build out the classification model according to the needs of the North American electrical market and related verticals.

      GERRIE ELECTRIC WHOLESALE LIMITED, a family owned and operated, electrical, automation and lighting distributor of products, services and solutions in Ontario, announces the move of its Central Distribution Centre from 5055 Benson Drive in Burlington into their new 76,000 sq. ft. facility at 3475 North Service Road, Burlington, ON L7N 3G2.

      The new facilty, opening on September 8, 2021, has been in the planning for the past two years to be the most efficient and effective fulfillment centre for today and into the future. The expansion includes leading edge automation of Gerrie's processes to ensure that the Gerrie team is able to create success by supplying their customers with the products they need accurately and on time.

      ELECTRICAL APPARATUS SERVICE ASSOCIATION (EASA) honoured Doug Moore of HECO Kentucky Service Company as the 2021 recipient of the EASA Exceptional Achievement Service Award. Established in 1997, this annual award recognizes individuals who have provided exceptional service to the electrical apparatus sales and service industry over a lifetime. “It is the highest honor an individual can receive from our association,” said Linda Raynes, EASA President and CEO. “We view it as our Nobel Prize for achievement and service.”

    Hydro Ottawa announced that it will soon receive support to help distribute funding to eligible applicants for EV charging stations within the city of Ottawa boundaries.

    This funding initiative will provide up to 50 per cent of project costs for the purchase and installation of EV charging stations for:

    GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) and BWXT Canada Ltd. (BWXT Canada) have entered into a teaming agreement to cooperate on engineering and procurement to support the design, manufacturing and commercialization of the BWRX-300 small modular reactor (SMR).
