    Greenlee® Communications launches DataScout® 10Gx

  • Nov 17, 2015

Greenlee Textron Inc., a Textron Inc.(NYSE: TXT) company continues to drive innovation with the launch of the DataScout® 10Gx multi-service network analyzer under the Greenlee® Communications brand. This new Greenlee Communications branded analyzer can be remotely controlled up to 100 feet away using any Android tablet or mobile device equipped with Bluetooth.

“Service providers and utilities are integrating mobile devices into their workflows and are seeking test equipment that leverages these devices as well” said Ken Fridley, product manager for the Greenlee Communications branded products. “The DataScout 10Gx enables technicians to work independently of their test equipment, yet still retain full command and control when working in tight locations or in high density equipment racks”.

Ken Fridley states, “By controlling the device via Bluetooth, the DataScout 10Gx eliminates the need for a built in touch screen display which extends average battery run time and reduces the theft profile when left onsite to monitor remote circuits. Multiple 10Gx units can even be controlled by a single technician when required”.

As part of Greenlee’s rapidly expanding line of Ethernet and Transport test equipment, the 10Gx has all the test features of the DataScout 10G touch screen model, such as; a fast twenty second boot time, multiple test interface options including dual port 1G & 10G Ethernet, T3/E3, T1/E1, DS0, PRI-ISDN, 2W/4W Signaling-TIMS, DATACOM, and DDS which can be configured to the needs of the customer. Lastly, the user interface is designed to be easy to use and fast to learn. The DataScout 10Gx multi-service network analyzer comes housed in a ruggedized all aluminum enclosure for added protection.

“As former technicians and managers ourselves, the engineering team and I enjoy getting into the field with customers to design quality test solutions with the right combination of features required to get services provisioned quickly and confidently” added Fridley. “The DataScout is built by technicians, for technicians”.

Greenlee, under its Greenlee Communications brand, develops Ethernet, Transport, C37.94, Fiber, DSL and Copper test solutions, tracing and locating equipment, and fiber/cable jet installation equipment. A broad product portfolio coupled with solutions branded Greenlee Utility®, HD Electric Company® and Sherman + Reilly™ to create a single source partner providing unmatched value to the communications and utility markets.
