Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com announced today the release of the EPL-EMG-48-2L-LED explosion proof emergency LED light which is designed to provide explosion proof protection as well as emergency operation capability in the event of power outages. This hazardous location LED fixture is constructed similarly to comparable two tube T5-HO fluorescent fixtures, but produces nearly twice as many lumens at the work space by utilizing Magnalight’s specially designed LED T-series bulbs. When measured with an Extech light meter at 8 feet, these bulbs produce nearly 2.5 times as much illumination as 54 watt T5-HO bulbs, making this explosion proof emergency light not only more efficient than fluorescent lamps, but more powerful as well. The housings on these explosion proof emergency lights are constructed of non-sparking aluminum for durability and resistance to corrosion, and impact and heat resistant Pyrex tubes protect the LED bulbs against contamination from dust, dirt, overspray, and impacts. These units have no ballast, which provides an added degree of reliability over fluorescent fixtures as well as instant on operation with no warm up times or lamp flicker. An integrally mounted battery backup system located within the lamp housing provides 90 minutes of light operation in the event of power failures. When normal power to the unit is cut through power failure, the emergency backup battery automatically kicks in and provides 90 minutes of emergency illumination. Once power is restored, the backup battery is automatically recharged and readied for operation. These explosion proof LED lights are ideal for a wide variety of applications and are approved Class 1 Division 1, UL 595 outdoor marine type, and paint spray booth approved as well. The Epl-emg-48-2l-led is versatile in power options, capable of operating with current ranging from 120V to 277V AC 50/60 Hz, and available in 12-24 VDC configuration for low voltage applications.
