As an Engineer-in-Training you will have the opportunity to gain a broad range of skills and experience through training and development, career moves, job shadowing, and mentoring.
Responsibilities
AltaLink is committed to actively supporting developing engineers by providing them with opportunities for a breadth of experience in a variety of technical and project roles early in their career.
New graduates will have the opportunity to start in one of three key engineering areas:
- Projects: Conceptual planning and design of new transmission facilities for integration into Alberta’s transmission system and the Project Management of capital and maintenance projects
- Asset Management: Development of asset management practices, maintenance investments, technical standards, and new technology investigations and practices, all in supporting AltaLink’s current and future transmission facilities
- System Operations: Engineering analysis and assessments supporting the real-time operations of the company’s transmission facilities
Qualifications
If you will be graduating with an Electrical Engineering Degree in May 2011, you have an opportunity to join our Powerful Team!
Other qualifications include:
- Working knowledge of Windows XP, Office 2007
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously
- Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills
