SCHREDER LIGHTING USA General Manager John Camp has appointed Michael N. Maltezos to DOT, Transit and Tunnel Specialist. Schréder uses a unique approach to deliver "The Right Light" by developing high-performance architectural and outdoor lighting solutions.
In his new position, Michael N. Maltezos, MIES will be responsible for overseeing lighting activities for transit and tunnel projects throughout the U.S. and Canada. He will work very closely with municipalities, DOTs and transit agencies, as well as the specification lighting community, including lighting designers, architects, and engineers. Mr. Maltezos will report directly to Mr. Camp.
Mr. Maltezos has more than 25 years of experience in electrical engineering, construction engineering, project/program management, and lighting design management. He has supervised the design and construction of several roadway systems and building facilities. Prior to joining Schréder Lighting USA, he served as an award-winning independent lighting designer and consultant, based in Tampa, Florida, where worked on major commercial, public and municipal design projects. He also served as Senior Associate for CTE Engineers, Inc., and Project Engineer and Design Engineer for McDonough Associates Inc., both which are based in Chicago.
Mr. Maltezos is a member of the IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America), IESNA Roadway Lighting Committee, IESNA Street and Area Lighting Committee, and the American Public Works Association.
Recognized as an industry expert on roadway lighting, Mr. Maltezos is a recipient of seven International Illumination Design Awards (IIDA) from the IESNA.
