Nora Lighting’s graceful and innovative 120V Nora Rail system now offers greater design and installation flexibility by incorporating the traditional capacity of track lighting with the style and architectural aesthetic of a “field-bendable” curving rail.
Like a track system, Nora Rail allows lighting designers and electrical contractors to “mix and match” fixture styles and lamping sources on a single rail to create energy-efficient, dynamic designs for in all interior installations.
With hundreds of Nora fixture styles to choose from, and a new expanded range of lamp options, Nora Rail presents many creative solutions.
For example, a 120V Nora Rail system accepts line voltage fixtures (MR16 GU10, G9, candelabra, medium base, high wattage double-end halogen, and PAR lamps); low voltage fixtures (AR 111, MR16 and Bi-Pin); linear T5 high-output fluorescent; GU24 fluorescent pendants; and metal halide (MR16, T4, T6, PAR20, PAR30 and PAR38 lamps).
By eliminating the need for a transformer, Nora’s versatile 120V Rail system allows nearly-unlimited runs with no voltage drop and does not restrict jobs to the size of a transformer.
All Nora Rail systems are cUL listed for 20 amps and can accommodate up to 2400 watts. Nora Rail is offered in three finishes to complement the décor: brushed nickel, bronze and silver.
In a typical restaurant or hotel installation, for example, a single Nora Rail system can accommodate incandescent pendants over a dining table or bar, while Nora low voltage spots are used to illuminate artwork, wall displays or cabinetry. Nora pendants and low voltage spots are dimmable.
By specifying a current limiting power feed, the designer or engineer can met any strict watts-per-square-foot requirements, as in California’s Title 24.
Though Nora Rail can be easily bent in the field, it is also available from the factory in a range of shapes, including: Straight rail in 4-foot, 6.6-foot or 8-foot sections; a wide curved rail in 40-inch sections; a soft, curved “S” rail with 43-inch sections; or as a complete circle with 24-inch, 48-inch and 78-inch diameters.
Nora Rail’s low voltage alternative also offers a choice of lamping options, including Nora’s award-winning, streamlined low voltage fixtures; Nora’s soft accent fixtures with porcelain or glass shades; and Nora’s vibrant line of art glass pendants.
Nora low voltage fixtures can be mounted with either an integral transformer or with the exclusive QuickJack system, also used to install Nora Rail pendants. QuickJack attaches low voltage fixtures and pendants directly to the transformer by inserting an extended metal fitting into the transformer receptacle and hand-tightening the threaded collar. No additional wiring is required. Other pendant mounting options include pendant cord and yo-yo assemblies.
For quick turn-key jobs, Nora Rail systems are available in kits, which include: Two 4-foot brushed nickel rails that connect to create a soft “S” shape; two 4-inch standoffs and one 4-inch power stem with canopy for support; four Mirage fixtures with frosted glass shade; four Argon swivel fixtures; and four 50-watt MR16 GU10 lamps.
