    Intertek Warns of Unauthorized ETL Recognized Component Certification Mark on a Direct Replacement LED Tube Lamp

    July 20, 2017 – The following is a notification from Intertek that the James Industry Group LLC Direct Replacement LED Tube identified below bears an unauthorized Intertek Recognized Component Certification Mark for the United States and Canada. The products are not certified by Intertek and it is not known if they comply with relevant safety requirements.

    Manufacturer: James Industry Group LLC

    Number of Units: 1000 units

    Identification: On Product: Unauthorized cETLus Recognized component with Control Number 4010330 and marking “Direct Replacement LED Tube, Model: ZY-T8-18W1200 BIXX” (See product photos below).

    Reported Hazards: Product may overheat or cause the fluorescent ballast to overheat, posing a potential fire hazard. Note: product has also been issued a Public Notice by UL 17PN-07.

    What to do: Products should not be used and returned to the point of purchase. Distributors and retailer should discontinue sales and return all inventories to their supplier.
