      Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro filed an updated fuel price projection for the Rate Stabilization Plan (RSP) with the Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities (PUB), which will result in a decrease in electricity rates to Newfoundland Power and most electricity consumers.

      The Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) has released its annual North American policy paper in Washington DC. Entitled: “Enhancing our Integrated Electricity System: An Opportunity to Build on Success,” the paper presents the Canadian industry’s views on opportunities for bilateral engagement between Canada and the U.S. to meet head-on the challenges facing the electricity sector. It can be found on the CEA website at www.canelect.ca.

      Manitoba Hydro has announced the first solar water heating system installation in the province through its Power Smart Solar Water Heating Program. The system was installed in a Power Smart Gold display home in Bridgewater Forest, the first neighbourhood of Waverley West.

      The installation is a joint initiative between Kensington Homes, the installer Northern Lights Solar Solutions, and Manitoba Hydro’s Power Smart New Home Program.
