Southwire Company announces that it has purchased New York-based Tappan Wire & Cable Inc. (“Tappan”). Tappan has headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Blauvelt, New York.
Tappan supplies the electronics, signal/control and industrial markets. Products include security and access control cable, coaxial video cable, fire alarm cable, plenum-rated cables, category cables, home automation/combination cables and commercial sound/intercom cable solutions. Schneider Electric and Parkeon announces the signature of an agreement for the development of an electric vehicle charging system, integrating energy management and pay by space technology.

The largest wind project of any manufacturing company in the United States won final approval yesterday and is expected to start construction next month.
Darien, Conn.-based hair-care manufacturer Zotos International Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido Co. Ltd., got the green light for a $7 million, 3.3 MW on-site wind power project for its manufacturing plant in Geneva, N.Y. The project was unanimously approved by city officials last night.
