    Job Description:
    We are currently seeking to fill a Business Development, Automation and Controls position in our Head Office located in South Surrey. The Business Development role is a technical sales position that requires knowledge of Automation and Controls products and related systems. The Business Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining positive customer relations by identifying technical product opportunities, supporting customer needs, coordinating efforts with partner manufacturers, providing up-to-date product information and identifying solutions to any issues. S/he is comfortable delivering technical presentations and recommending the best technical products/application solution for customers. The Business Developer will maintain current technical knowledge through training courses provided by EBH and our partner manufacturers. Experience with Siemens Automation and Controls products such as contactors, motor starters, soft starters, S7-1200/1500 PLCs, SIMATIC HMI Comfort Panels and knowledge of competing brands (ABB, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider, Omron) are definite assets.

    The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

    • A diploma or degree in an applicable field (ASct/CET/EIT)
    • 2+ years of experience in the technical industry
    • 3+ years of experience in a sales role or equivalent combination of experience in the technical sales industry
    • Advanced computer skills including MS Office
    • Experience giving formal presentations and product pitches
    • English language proficiency
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive own car for 4 – 6 hours per day with some computer/office work
    • Must be available outside of branch office hours on telephone or e-mail and for networking and relationship building activities
    • Required to visit customers at job sites or construction sites and may involve climbing, going into small spaces and visiting area with potential hazards
    • Ability to work with a variety of customers and respond to novel demands; be resilient and persistent in order to deal with rejection from potential customers, and; remember key personal or business related facts of customers
